March 26 2013: It is important to note that the symptoms of citrus tristeza virus had not been seen until 2000 in the north of Iran. About symptoms it is customary to be hidden when the stock is enduring. It is a situation that virus could assume complete control of the plant without any symptom. I want to place particular emphasis on the danger of transmission of virus with symptomless enduring stock. It may have damaging consequences for sensible stocks. Finally it causes rapid decline in fruit production. University sources confirmed that the first symptoms of citrus tristeza virus have been reported on Thomson Navel (Citrus sinensis Osbeck) in the north of Iran in 2000. Despite the fact that the common vector of CTV in the world is Toxoptera citricida، but in the north of Iran the only vector is Aphis gossypii.
